Henry& Lois Kolb 1984
From the Prophetstown Echo, January 5, 1984 V97 No 17
They had a great New Year's party at Prophet's Riverview Good Samaritan Center just before the grand event. Although it took place in the afternoon when the light was shining through the windows, that didn't seem to bother anyone inside. Everyone donned a newspaper hat and joined Dorathy Hill and spike Jones in a couple of hours of piano and guitar music. The residents danced and joked in the center's cafeteria. Cheese and wine were passed around and all (or nearly all) made a real day of it. They concluded the afternoon celebration with Ole Lang Syne. -
Henry & Lois Kolb of Tampico are shown here dancing. It may not look like they're dancing - but they are. The couple published the Tampico Tornado newspaper for many years until retiring in 1966. Mrs. Kolb is now a resident of the center and her husband came over to help wtith the fun.
(donated to TAHS from the Mabel Denison estate)
