Maxine Johnson has a Certified Copy of a Delayed Record of Birthon Hettie, that was issued in 8 December, 1952 by Joseph Mann,County Clerk at Morrison, Ill. Information was gained from theMarriage book to H. Christian Johnson (also in Maxine'spossession) and an affidavit of sister, Flore Deitz, fromTampico. Certificate is State File No. 200107.A Bridal Souvenir Book, which is in Maxine's possession, hasonly a few pages filled out. One is the marriage certificate,signed by Guy L. Zerby, Christian Minister on Wednesday, 24thday of June, 1908. On the facing page is a note in Hettie'shandwriting: "H.C. Johnson passed away May 11, 1956." Alsoinserted is a wedding invitation to the wedding, with envelopeaddressed in spidery writing to "Miss Tilla Johnson". Apencilled readdress in another hand says: "Christian & Hettie".Several notes out of a pocket address book bear Hettie'shandwriting of unknown vintage, but probably after Christian'sdeath: "Sept, 1896, Hettie McCracken began teaching SunnysideSchool SW of Tampico. Taught till June, 1901. 5 yrs. went toDixon college 1 yr, taught music 1 yr, then taught Sunnysidefrom Sept 1903 to May 27, 1908. Married June 24, 1908. Taughtone year in Henry Co. after attending Geneseo Institute, firstyear of teaching 19 years old.Another note from address book says: Lot # 2236 South-half,July 6, 1954.Ordered a monument $142 Tilla one size 8 x 6 x 14 $45. On theback of that is "I graduate from 8th grad West School Ida Clarkfrom Prophetstown teacher 1892 June 11." Another note onanother page says: K.S.B. Hospital, Dixon, Ill.Ill Research Hospital, 830 S. Wood St. Chicago. Lizzie wentthere Aug 24, 1947 She passed away Nov 16, 1948 17 years and 6months." On reverse in red, as above note" "My firstcertificate March 7, 1894 in Henry County Geneseo." This isconsistent with the originals of the certificates that Maxinehas in her possession.
