THERESA  (Vos)   PETERSEN

 

Prophetstown:  Theresa Petersen, 70, of 1061 Bark Ave., died Saturday at Amboy's Hospital, Rockford.

 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, preceded by a 1:45 p.m. prayer service in the church chapel. Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Morrison Chapel Bosma-Renkes Funeral home.  A memorial has been established.

 

Mrs. Petersen was born July 15, 1919 in Morrison, the daughter of Bartled and Ida DeWeerdt Vos. She married Ben Petersen, July 20, 1935 in Sterling, and he died Nov. 10, 1988. She was educated in the Morrison schools and graduated from the Rockford School of Business. They farmed in the Morrison area until 1953 when they moved to Prophetstown and farmed until 1977. She was employed at Penberthy Mfg. Co., retiring in 1983 after working ten years.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Wilkins, Prophetstown, a son; Warren, Morrison; three grandchildren and two step- grandchildren; three step- great grandchildren; three sisters, Fannie Schroeder, Alice Voss, and Margaret Opteus, all of Morrison.

 

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
