BERT SWANSON
Prophetstown: - Bert Swanson, 76, 5303 Bishop Rd., died Friday at the Sterling Care Center.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Swanson was born Oct. 1, 1913 in Yates City, Illinois, the son of Andrew and Ellen Olson Swanson. He married Gladys Meier, June 5, 1937. He owned and operated the Swanson Trucking from 1930 until retiring in February 1989. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Connie) Murphy, Prophetstown; four sons, Chuck Swanson, Ron Swanson, and Rick Swanson, all of Prophetstown and Neil Swanson of Rochelle; nine grandchildren.
