DORIS  E. (Hansen) VERDICK

 

Deer Grove: - Doris E. Verdick, 65, 2364 Hickory Hills Road, died Wednesday morning at the Clare Hospital in Monroe, Wis.

 

Prayer services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home with the funeral mass following at 10:30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. James Tranel, officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Garland Funeral Home with a Rosary at 8 p.m.

 

 A memorial has been established to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or The Whiteside County Cancer Society.

 

Mrs. Verdick was born April 2, 1924 in Sheffield, the daughter of James and Ellen Whipple Hansen. She married Dean Verdick August 20, 1943, and he died Dec. 12, 1987. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society. She was the Hahnaman Township Clerk for a number of years.

 

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Barbara) Bohnert, Joliet;  Mrs. Stephen (Betty) Schitcher and Mrs. David (Helen) Blackert, both of Roack Falls, Mrs. Howard (Lois) Scott, Prophetstown; one son, Raymond, Rock Falls; 17 grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Aldine Hinton, Tampico, Mrs. Amiel (Lucille) Rozelling, Manlius, Mrs. Donna Callahan, Moline.

 

She was preceded by her parents, husband and one granddaughter.
