CARRIE  (Von Holten)  KOENIG

 

Mrs. Carrie Koenig Services Tuesday

 

Mrs. Carrie Koenig, 85, rural Tampico, died early Saturday morning at the Sterling Care Center at Sterling.

 

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Yorktown on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joe O. Rustad, officiating.  Burial will be Yorktown Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the Schmitt Funeral Chapel in Tampico on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. 

 

Mrs. Koenig was born in Champaign County on June 27, 1890, the daughter of William and Marie Geiser Von Holten.  She married Robert Koenig on Nov. 26, 1924 at Rock Falls.  She had lived in the Tampico vicinity for 52 years and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Yorktown and its Faith Circle.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Miss Wilma Koenig, and one son Oscar, both at home and one sister, Mrs. Emil Wascher of Champaign.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1939 and four brothers, Willie, Carl, Otto and Christ.
