TAMPICO — Loren A. Sandrock, 65, of 1559 Backbone Road, Tampico, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.


He was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Morrison to Harry and Dorothy (Nelson) Sandrock.


He lived and farmed in the Yorktown area during his lifetime and was self employed as an over-the-road truck driver for more than 30 years.


Surviving are one daughter, Sheila (Patrick) Barton of Sterling; one son, Gary Sandrock of Tampico; his mother of Tampico; two brothers, Larry (Joyce) Sandrock of Tampico and Lee (Dawn) Sandrock of Rock Falls; four grandchildren, Ryan Barton, Emilie Barton, Deanna Shay Sandrock and Kathrina Sandrock; one great-granddaughter, Emma Sandrock; his former wife, Joyce Batten Sandrock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and five nieces and nephews, Kevin Sandrock, Kayla Link, Tonya Spencer, Valerie Petty and Alan Sandrock.


He was preceded in death by his father.


Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico, with the Rev. Henrietta Milner, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be in the Yorktown Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.


A memorial has been established.

Loren Sandrock, age 65, of 1559 Backbone Road, Tampico, Illinois died on Wednesday June 11, 2008 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.


Loren was born on December 24, 1942 in Morrison, Illinois the son of Harry and Dorothy (Nelson) Sandrock. He lived and farmed in the Yorktown area during his lifetime and was self-employed as an over the road turck driver for over 30 years. Family, farming, and playing with his grqndchildren were his life.


He is furvived by one daughter Sheila and her husband Parick Barton of Sterling, Illinois; one son Gary Sandrock of Tampico, Illinois; his mother Dorothy Sandrock of Tampico, Illinois; four grandchildren, Ryan Barton, Emilie Barton, Deanna Shay Sandrock and Kathrina Sandrock, one great granddaughter Emma Sandrock; his forerm wife Joyce Batten Sandrock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; tow brothers Larry and his wife Joynce Sandrock of Tampico, Illinois; and Lee and his wife Dawn Sandrock of Rock Falls, Illinois; and nieces and nephews Kevin Sandrock Family, Kayla Link Family, Tonya Spencer Family, Valerie Petty Family and Alna Sandrock.


He was preceded in death by his father Harry Sandrock.


Funeral services will be conducted onTuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral HOme in Tampico, with Rev. Henrietta Milner, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls, IL officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A memorial has been established in his memory.
