DANIEL LEAHY BURIED HERE


Relatives and friends attended funeral services for Daniel Leahy at St. Mary's church Saturday morning at 9:30. Rev. Fr. Ambrose Weitekamp conducted the requiem high mass. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery


Mr. Leahy, son of James and Julia Leahy, was born in Deer Grove and passed away  Wednesday, July 3, at St. Theresa's hospital in Waukegan where he had been cared for the two weeks preceding his death. he was nearly 72 years old. He made his home in the Deer Grove community until 20 years ago when he moved to Waukegan.


The remains were brought to the Meyer funeral home in Sterling Thursday where the rosary was recited Friday evening.


He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Emma Krissey of Lake Patrick, Ia., Mrs. Ellen Bolton of Dixon and Mrs. John Harshman and Mrs. Catherine O'Rourke of Sterling; one brother, James Leahy of Deer Grove; two half sisters and three half brothers. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.
