PHILLIP S. LEAHY BURIED HERE


Funeral services for Phillip s. Leahy of Sterling, formerly of this community, were held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock in St. Mary's church, Sterling. burial was in St. Mary's cemetery in Tampico.


Mr. Leahy was born near Deer Grove on Oct. 29, 1895, a son of James and Johnanna Leahy, He attended the Reeves school in Hahnaman township. On Feb. 10, 1917 he married Pansy Meek inChicago. he passed away at the Sterling Public hospital Sunday afternoon after a short illness.


He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Garland of Moline and Mrs. Richard Meek of Sterling; two brothers, Charles of Sterling and Thomas of Rock Falls; a half brother, Richard Leahy of Dixon; four half sistrs, Mrs. Mell Bolton of Dixon, Mrs. Jack Harshman and Mrs. Catherine O'Rourke of Sterling and Mrs. Emma Crhissey of Lake Paark, Ia.


He ws preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mrs. John Peterson; a half brother, Daniel Leahy; and two half sisters. Mrs. Dennis Callahan and Mrs. Gus Schweinsbert.
