Anton Carboni




CHICAGO - Anton P. Carboni, 72, of Chicago, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at the Clark Manor Convalescent Center, Chicago.


Anton was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Mark, the son of Tony and Ruth (McColeson) Carboni. He was a lifelong resident of the Chicago area after leaving Mark. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Granville.


Survivors include two sisters, Marian Christman of Oglesby and Ruth Ann Carboni of Peru; three brothers, John Carboni of LaSalle, James (Linda) Carboni of Granville, and Ronald (Mary) Carboni of Tampico; and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Carboni.


The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Helmer-Shields Funeral Home, Granville, with the Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester officiating. Burial is at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Granville. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Memorials have been established to the Putnam County Food Pantry or to a charity of the donor's choice.
