AGNES  (Hargis)  KEMP

 

Prophetstown: - Agnes Kemp, 75, of Prophetstown, died Tuesday evening at the Prophets-Riverview Center.



Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the First Congreational Church of Prophetstown with Rev. James Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Gardner Chapel in Prophetstown.

 

A memorial has been established to the Congregational Church.

 

Mrs. Kemp was born on Jan. 28, 1911 in Payson, the daughter of Arthur and Ella Whitmer Hargis.  On June 12, 1927 she was united in Marriage to Merle Kemp in Keithsburg.  Following marriage the couple lived in Keithsburg and Viola until moving to Prophetstown in 1949.  The deceased was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Prophetstown Camera Club, the Martha Class and Women's Fellowship.

 

She is survived by three sons, Wendall of Janesville, Wis., John of Ballwin, Mo., and Lynn of Prophetstown; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1983, one sister and three brothers.
