FREDERICK  G.  WALDBUSSER

 

Prophetstown: - Frederick G. (Fritz) Waldbusser, 74, of 114 Riverside Drive, Prophetstown, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 1996, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leon United Methodist Church, rural Prophetstown, with the Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Gardner Funeral Home, Prophetstown, with an 8 p.m. Masonic service.

A memorial has been established.

 

Mr. Waldbusser was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Danvers, the son of Fred and Anna (Hacker) Waldbusser.  He married Genevieve Specht on Jan. 29, 1949 in Moline.  He was a 1940 graduate of Erie High School. He served in the United Stated Army during World War II. He was employed by Rock River Lumber and Grain Company, Prophetstown, owned and operated Fritz's Truck Stop for 17 years, and Fritz's Car Wash. He was a member of the Centerville School Board, the Leon United Methodist Church, Eshelman-Talley-Doye American Legion Post, Hooppole;  Prophetstown Lodge #293 A.F. and A.M.., and the Loyal Order of Moose, Sterling.

 

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nancy (John) Buck of Mukwonago, Wis., and Vickie Waldbusser of Prophetstown; two grandchildren, Nathan Buck and Amy Buck; two sisters, Dorothy (Firtz) Knapp of Morton, and Elsie Burgess of Xenia; four brothers, Ernest Waldbusser, Alfred Waldbusser, Henry Waldbusser, and Robert Waldbusser, all of Prophetstown. 

 

He was preceded in death by one brother, William.
