PHOEBE ELLEN  (Heller)  SIBLEY

 

Mrs. Sibley, 92, Succumbs Today

 

Mrs. Phoebe Ellen Sibley, 92, died Thursday morning at Community General Hospital in Sterling after a few days illness.

 

She was born in Henry County, Illinois, on Oct. 23, 1874, the daughter of Simeon and Maria (Pobanz) Heller.  She was educated in the Henry County schools and on Dec. 30, 1903, she married Robert F. Sibley.

 

Phoebe Sibley lived in the Tampico vicinity for 33 years and had lived all her life in Illinois, except for three years spent in Clinton, Iowa.  She was a member of the Lorraine Evangelical Church in Lorrane Township.

 

Survivors include one son, C. Robert, Chadwick; one daughter, Mrs. Maynard (Elizabeth) Petersen of Tampico; 13 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963, six brothers, five sisters and one son who died in infancy. She was the last survivor of twelve children.

 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan 22, at the Tampico Baptist Church, commencing at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Joseph Stoube of the Tampcio Baptist Church will officiate at the services.  Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Prophetstown.



Friends may call at the chapel after 3 p.m. on Saturday.
