DONALD  OPPENDIKE

 

Prophetstown: - Donald Oppendike, 82, of 411 West Second St., Prophetstown, died April 26, 1994, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling.

 

Funeral sercices will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Gardner Funeral home, Prophetstown. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.

 

Donald was born Aug. 8, 1911, in Port Byron, the son of John and Nellie (Hart) Oppendike. He had been a grain and cattle farmer all his life having farmed in this area for many years.  He was a former member of the Farm Bureau.

 

Survivors include his twin sister, Mrs. Otto (Dorothy) Arp of East Moline, and nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Oppendike and Berneice Johnson; and two brothers, Millard and Edmond Oppendike.
