GEORGE  ALBERT  FORWARD

 

George Albert Forward, 87, 1410 Bennett Drive, Rock Falls, formerly of Tampico, was dead on arrival at Community General Hospital Monday evening.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Allen-Schmitlt-Garland Funeral Chapel in Tampico with Michael Catron, a grandson-in-law, officiating.  Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the Allen-Schmitt-Garland Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. only.  A memorial has been established in his memory to the Tampico Church of Christ

 

George Forward was born on May 5, 1896 in Tampico, the son of Albert and Fannie Greenman Forward.  On Aug. 6 1915 he was united in marriage to Darlene Anderburg in the New Bedford Christian Church Parsonage. He farmed in the Tampico area for 41 years and he was a Vigortone Feed Salesman for the past 27 years.

 

Surviving are his wife, Darlene; two sons, George and Robert, both of Tampico; four daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Edna) Howlett, Rock Falls, Mrs. William (Thelma) Blum, Byron, Mrs. Lowell (Mabel) Egert, Tampico, and Mrs. Forest (Frances) Teer, Walworth, Wis.; 21 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded by his parents, one son, one daughter and five sisters.
