ANDREW  K.  STAELENS

 

Rites Tuesday For Andrew K. Staelens

 

Andrew K. Staelens, 90, passed away Sataurday at 11:30 a.m. at the Rock Falls Colonial Acres.

 

Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the Grennan Funeral Home.  The family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. today and 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the mass of the resurrection at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Rock Falls with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Grennan Funeral HOme.  Burial will be in

St. Mary's Cemetery in Tampico. 

 

Andrew Staelens was born March 16, 1884 in St. Laurence, Belgium.  In 1912 he married the former Mary DeMey at St. Mary's Church in Hooppole.  He farmed many years in this community and he was retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire.

 

Surviving are three sons, Raymond of Modena, Alfred of Tampico, and Hubert of Orlando, Fla.  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ann Weidel and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Puckett, both of Sterling.  Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, all living in Belgiuim.  Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
