Mrs. Iris E. Johnson, age 78, of DeKalb County Nursing Home and formerly of Tampico, Illinois, died Saturday, January 18, 1992 in the DeKalb County Nursing Home.


Funeral services will be donducted on Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. in the Tampico United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert May, pastor ofTampico United Methodist Church oficiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Garland Funeral Home in Tampcio. Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Garland funeral Home in Tampico. A memorial has been established in her memory to Winning Wheels in Prophetsown and Tampic Fire Department in lieu of flowers.


Mrs. Johnson was born on March 9, 1913 in Anaconda, Montana, the daughter of Eugene and Elizabeth Horn Keppler. She was united in marriage to Dr. Leonard C. Johnson on May 29, 1935 at St. Mark's Hospital Chapel in Salt Lake City, UT. He preceded her in death December 17, 1972. She was a registered nurse during her lifetime and worked with her husband in his practice in Tampico, IL for many years and late worked as a registered nurse in the DeKalb School System for about ten years.


She graduated from Anaconda Hight School and St. Mark's Hospital School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, UT. She was a member of the Morning Star Chapter No. 382 O. E. S. in Tampico.


She is survived by the one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) White of Belvidere, IL, two sons and daughter -in-laws; Roger and Susan Johnson of Maniwoac, WI, and Steven and Susan Johnson of DeKalb, IL. eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Lilac) Holman of Delta, UT and Mrs. Kily Dawson of Delta, UT, and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one grandson.
