Mildred Easley

DEER GROVE - Mildred L. Easley, 88, formerly of Deer Grove, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Prophets Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico, with the Rev. Don Hoskman, pastor of the Community Church of Christ in Janesville, Wis., officiating. There will be no visitation.

PROPHETSTOWN - Mildred L. Easley, 88, of Prophetstown, formerly of Deer Grove, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Prophets Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown. She was employed by Community General Hospital in the obstetrics department and by several Sterling and Rock Falls nursing homes.

Mrs. Easley was born March 24, 1920, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of Jessie and Ollie (Martin) Potts. She married Anson Easley on Sept. 12, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn. He preceded her in death in December 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, Mildred (Harry) Peterson of Rock Falls and Linda Hanabarger of Sterling; a son, James (Sherry) Easley of Bay City, Fla.; a sister, Marie Dunn of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Don (Mattie) Potts of Memphis, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sons-in-laws, Willard Cantrell, James Dean, and Jerry Hanabarger; two sisters; a brother; and a grandchild.

Burial was at Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Garland Funeral Home, Tampico.

Mildred L. Easley, age 88, formerly of Deer Grove, Illinois died Friday, October 17, 2008 at Prophets Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, Illinois with her two daughters and son-in-law at her side.

She was born on March 24, 1920 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Jessie and Ollie (Martin) Potts. She was united in marriage to Anson Easley on September 12, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee and he preceded her in death in December of 2000. She worked at Community General Hospital in the obstetrics department and several nursing homes in the Sterling-Rock Falls area during her lifetime. She loved flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred (Harry) Peterson of Rock Falls, Illinois, Linda Hanabarger of Sterling, Illinois; one son James (Sherry) Easley of Bay City, Florida; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one sister Marie Dunn of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother Don (Mattie) Potts of Memphis, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three son -in -laws, Willard Cantrell, James Dean, Jerry Hanabarger; two sisters, one brother and one grandchild.
