Paul Esslinger Dies, Services Monday



Prophetstown: - Paul Esslinger, 71, died Friday morning (today) in Community General Hospital, Sterling, where he had been a patient for several weeks.



Funeral services will be held in the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown, Monday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Olson, officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Gardner Funeral Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.



Paul Esslinger was born May 15, 1899, in Fenton Township, the son of Jacob and Kate Beechler Esslinger.  He moved to Prophetstown in 1948.  Mr. Esslinger received his education in Erie and Valparaiso, Ind.  He attended the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown.  He married Marie James, of Erie, in Aledo, Aug. 23, 1922.  They farmed in rural Prophetstown until 1948.



Survivors include the widow, one son, Robert, Prophetstown;  one daughter, Mrs. Stacy (Ruth) Arnett, Prophetstown;  one sister, Mrs. Ida Weinrick, Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren.



(She) was preceded by (her) parents, one brother and three sisters.
