ELFRIEDA BERGE

 

Elfrieda Berge Dies Tuesday



Mrs. Elfrieda H. Berge,74, 504 3rd Avenue, Rock Falls, died Tuesday afternoon in the Dixon Public Hospital after a long illness.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Berge will be Friday 2 p.m. the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home in Rock Falls with the Rev. E. A. Henrichs, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls officiating.  Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

 

 A memorial has been established in her memory to the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

 

Mrs. Berge was born May 19, 1900 in Leon Township, the daughter of William and Elsie Marine Frank.  She was united in marriage to John C. Berge on Nov. 29, 1917 at the bride's home.  The couple farmed near Yorktown for many years, moving to Rock Falls 19 years ago.  She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls and the Ladies Circle.

 

She is survived by her husband John;  one daughter, Eva Delle Berge of LaGrange Park; two sons, Elmer of Ocmowoc, Wis., and Lawrence of Dixon;  two sisters, Mrs. John (Minnie) Menenga of Gergus Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Mason (Elnora) Sivits of Dixon; and six grandchildren.

 

She was preceded by her parents and three brothers.
