JAMES  FREDERICK  HANSEN

 

James Hansen Dies Monday

 

James Frederick Hansen, 87, of Tampico, Died Monday afternoon at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Prophetstown.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown with the Rev. L. S. Anderson officiating.  Burial will be in the Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schmitt Chapel Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.   A Memorial has been established.

 

He was born in Fairfield Township May 24, 1888, the son of James F. and Anna Carlsen Hansen.  He was reared and educated in the Fairfield schools.  He married Ellen Whipple, Feb. 15, 1911 in Princeton.  They resided in Minnesota for 12 years and farmed in this area until 1957 at which time he retired and moved to Tampico.  He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Prophetstown.

 

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Aldine) Hinton of Tampico;  Mrs. Amiel (Lucille) Roseling of Manlius;; Mrs. Howard (Donna) Davenpot of Moline, and Mrs. Dean (Doris) Verdick of Tampico;  19 grandchildren;  44 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers, and two granddaughters.
