Services Set For Lewis (Joe) Lawrence

 

Prophetstown: - Funeral services for Lewis Milton (Joe) Lawrence, 74, who passed away Tuesday in his home, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Gardner Chapel, the Rev. Paul Olson officiating, with burial in

Riverside Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home tonight (Wednesda)  between 7 and 9 p.m.

 

Joe Lawrence was born July 25, 1895 in Spring Hill, the son of Wallace and Augusta (George) Lawrence. He was educated in the Spring Hill School. He lived in Prophetstown all his life and was a retired carpenter. He married Marie Anderson of Prophetstown on April 5, 1923 in Morrison. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Prophetstown and the American Legion.

 

He is survived by his widow, one son, Robert Lawrence of Prophetstown and five grandchildren.

 

He was preceded by his parents, grandson, three brothers, Herbert, Lynn and Wallace; four sisters, Mrs. Betha Sibley, Mrs. Ernest Meyer, Mrs. Myrtle Franks and Mrs. Ed (Pearl) Redell.
