Gustav Haaks Services Held
 
Prophetstown: - Gustav Haaks, 83, of Portland Township, passed away Saturday afternoon at his home.
 
He was born Aug. 26, 1882, in Germany.  He came to the United States at the age of 26.  He farmed in Iowa and in Geneseo. He had lived in the Portland area for the past 18 years.
 
Funeral services were held Monday at the Gardner Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Olson of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in
Riverside Cemetery.
 
Pallbearers were Phillip Swanson, Leonard Howlett, William Sharer, August Kilberg, William Hummell and Howard Jacquet.  Mrs. Leland Bierman was the organist.
