Mrs. Leonie Verhulst Dies In Hospital
 
Prophetstown: - Mrs. Leonie Marie Verhulst, 78, of Prophetstown, passed away this morning at the Morrison Community Hospial, where she had been a patient for 12 days.
 
Funeral services will be held at the St. Catherine's Catholic Church Thursday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Cletus Anger officiating, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery at Tampico.
 
The rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at the Gardner Funeral Chapel at 8 p.m.
 
Leonie Marie De Busschere was born July 30, 1888 in Thielt, Belgium, the daughter of Charles and Thicla Van De Walle De Busschere. She came to the sates in 1910 and moved to Prophetstown from Ottumwa, Iowa in 1932. She resided in her last residence for 12 years. She was a member of St. Catherine's Church and Altar and Rosary Society of Prophetstown. She married Cyriel H. Verhulst of Aerseele, Belgium, April 23, 1912 in Thielt, Belgium
 
She is survived by one son, Ernest Verhulst of Prophetstown; two daughters Mrs Raynor (Mary) Mosher of Lanark, Mrs. A. W. Cordrey of Menominee Falls, Wis.; one brother, Jule De Busschere in Belgium; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded by her parents, husband in 1953; one son Maruice in 1949; two children in infancy; one brother and four sisters.
