Charles W. Wheelock Dies This Morning

 

Charles W. Wheelock, Hume Township farmer for many years died early this morning in Prophets Riverview Center, Prophetstown, after an extended illness.  

The body was moved to the Melvin Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.  Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Melvin Funeral Home. The Rev. David Fouts, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sterling will officiate and burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery at Tampico. 

Charles W. Wheelock was born Oct. 14, 1874 at Tampico, the son of Luther and Kate Freeby Wheelock. He was married June 1, 1897 to Nellie M. Pope who preceded July 18, 1943.  He was a member of the Tampico Methodist Church. 

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Luther (Mabel) Carlson of Sterling, and one brother, Cecil Wheelock of Tampico. There are four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.  One daughter, Mrs. Clarence Darnell, preceded in death.
