TAMPICO — David L. Parrott, 68, of 27631 35th East Street, Tampico, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at his home.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tampico Church of Christ with the Revs. Clark Devore and Richard Fossum, pastors, officiating. Burial will be in the Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services in the church.

The Garland Funeral Home in Tampico is in charge of arrangements.

Tampico - David L. Parrott, age 68, of 27631 35 East Street Tampico, Illinois died Thursday September 24, 2009 at his home in Tampico.

David was born on November 12, 1940 in Arlington, Illinois, the son of Joe and Ruth Parrott. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Tampico Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and a member of the Hooppole American Legion. He loved to play euchre and loved his family.

He is survived by his fiancé Carol Fox of Tampico, Illinois; two sons Richard (Alicia) Parrott of Machesney Park, Illinois, Shannon (Stephanie Jones) of LaSalle, Illinois; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four sisters Rosie Parrott of Rockford, Illinois, Patricia (Vern) Veth of Machesney Park, Illinois, Ruby Spoede of Canton, Illinois, Betty Parrott of Dixon, Illinois; his stepmother Ruth Parrott of Princeton, Illinois; two stepbrothers David and John Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Bev Parrott and one brother Melvin Parrott.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Tampico Church of Christ the Rev. Clark Devore and Rev. Richard Fossum pastors officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the church. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HIS MEMORY. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.
