LESTER E.  DEVINE 

Lester E. Devine Of Deer Grove Dies Today 

Deer Grove: - Lester E. Devine, 79 Deer Grove, Route One, died early today in his home after a lengthy illness. 

Funeral rites will be held Wednesday morning with a 9:15  prayer service in the Grennan and Son Funeral Home and requiem mass at 10 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico.  The Rev. Eugene Parker will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico. 

There will be visitation from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m 

Lester E. Devine was born in Hahnaman Township Jan. 4, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Hannah Davis) Devine. He was united in marriage with Caroline Hein Feb. 4, 1920 in St. Mary's Church, Tampico by the Rev. L. X. Dufour. He had farmed his entire lifetime in the Deer Grove area.  Mr. and Mrs. Devine observed their golden wedding Feb. 4, 1970. 

Surviving with Mrs. Devine are one son, Eugene of Harmon; two brothers, Lyle of Deer Grove, and Reuben of Rock Falls, and four grandchildren, Edward, Steven and Margaret Devine and Mrs. Diane Wade. Three brothers and two sisters preceded in death.
