Frances B. Decker, 85, of Prophetstown, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 23, at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home, Prophetstown. The Rev. Jim Jensen, pastor of Advent Christian Church, Prophetstown, will officiate. Visitation was held Thursday, April 22, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Memorials may be made to Prophetstown Ambulance Association or Advent Christian Church.

She was born June 25, 1924, in Lincoln, the daughter of John and Beatrice (Brown) Redshaw. She was educated in the Prophetstown grade schools and attended Prophetstown High School. She married Aubrey L. Decker June 28, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa. He died Jan. 16, 2005. She farmed with her husband for many years in the rural Tampico and Erie areas. She also was employed as a teller for the Erie State Bank and most recently worked as a bookkeeper for the Erie Unit District No. 1 School System, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Advent Christian Church, and enjoyed ceramics and cooking.

Survivors include one daughter and spouse, Linda and Dave Wherry of Fulton; three sons and spouses, Gene and Marie Decker of Atkinson, A. Dean Decker of Geneseo, and Neil and Irma Decker of Prophetstown; seven grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy and Christa Allen, Greg and Kate Decker, Annette Decker, Brian and Linda Decker, Brett and Kirsten Decker, Matthew and Michelle Decker, and Marianne Decker; 10 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Rosie Meier of Prophetstown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey, and one sister, Vernabel Thormahlen.

FRANCES B. DECKER, 85, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the center.

Frances was born June 25, 1924 in Lincoln, IL to John and Beatrice (Brown) Redshaw. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade Schools and attended Prophetstown High School. She married Aubrey L. Decker on June 28, 1940 in Clinton, IA. He died January 16, 2005. Frances farmed with her husband, for many years, in the rural Tampico and Erie areas.
