L.  J.  PETERSON

L. J. Peterson Dies; Rites at Tampico, Saturday at 2 p.m. 

L. J. Peterson, 71, of Mineral, former resident of Prophetstown and the New Bedford vicinity, passed away Thursday afternoon as the result of a stroke he suffered November 30.  Funeral services will be held at the Parent funeral parlors Saturday at 2 p.m. and committal will be at the Fairfield Cemetery.

 Mr. and Mrs. Peterson and family moved from the Thomas vicinity in 1925 to the C. D. Cleaveland farm east of Prophetstown, retiring to Prophetstown about five years ago.  Last April he and Mrs. Peterson went to Mineral to make their home.

 Besides his widow, he leaves the following children, Mrs. Arthur Howlett of Mineral;  Mrs. Cyril Bowen of Sterling, George of Thomas, Clair of Walnut, Orris of Rock Falls, Glenn of Sterling and Mrs. Orson Bound, Mrs. Hammond Lawrence and Darrell Peterson of Prophetstown.  He also leaves six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne, in 1923.
