Ardis L. Foes, 86, of Mineral, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Geneseo Good Samaritan Village.

A funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sheffield. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass at the church, and burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Sheffield. Memorials may be left to Trinity Pathway Hospice or Geneseo Good Samaritan Village. Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, is assisting the family.

Ardis was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Tampico, daughter of John Cleve and Helen Kane Shearer. She was a 1942 graduate of Tampico High School. Ardis married Francis F. Foes on Oct. 7, 1944, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sheffield; he preceded her in death in 2006.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sheffield. Ardis enjoyed dancing, playing cards and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Mitch McCauley, Mineral, Frances and Allan VanHyfte, Annawan, Lorie and Mark Painter, Rockford, Ill., Trish and J. Harli Pritchard, Atkinson; a son, Allen Foes, Sheffield; 10 grandchildren, Micah McCauley, Michele Todd, Jesse McCauley, Brett and Matthew Painter, Reilly Foes, Spencer Foes, Zachary Saigh, Grant and Noah Pritchard; two stepgrandchildren, Zach and Nick VanHyfte; three great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Cox, Colona, Jerria and Kenneth Baumgartner, Walnut, Ill.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Wells and Barb Shearer, Colona.

She was preceded in death by five brothers; three sisters; a son-in-law, John Payne; and two grandchildren, John Earl Payne and Kyle Painter.
