MAURICE  'DUTCH'  BRUNS

Tampico: - Maurice "Dutch" Bruns, 66, of 108 N. Washington St., Tampico, died Thursday afternoon at Rockford Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico, with Rev. Dennis Heaney, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 only.  A memorial has been established.

Mr. Bruns was born July 2, 1921 in Sterling, the son of Henry and Etta Beherends Bruns. He married Imogene Miller, April 24, 1947 in Palmyra.  He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.  He was a welder at Northwestern Steel and Wire, Sterling, for 18 years, retiring in 1978. 

He is survived by his wife, Imogene, Tampico; four sons, Gary, Quinn and Rich, all of Tampico; and Maurice Jr. of Rock Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Courtney, Tamkpico, and Mrs. Dennis (Debbie) Rockwell, Rock Falls; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Fern) Tompkins, Tampico; one brother, Harold, Pleasanton, Calif.; two half brothers, Lee and Jack Wiliamson, Rock Falls; two half sisters, Mrs. Jack (Judy) Rippi and Nancy Hagerman, both of Rock Falls. He was preceded ind eath by his parents and one daughter.
