OWEN  C.  HURST

Owen C. Hurst, 57, of 406 Red Oak Road, Walnut, died early Wednesday morning in Community General Hospital after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Allen-Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with Rev. Gene Gebhardt of Walnut, officiating.  Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Mr. Hurst was born on March 28, 1923 in Manlius, the son of Chester and Amelia (Rosenow) Hurst.  He was united in marriage to Caryl Schrader on November 10, 1943 in Walnut.  He was a rural mail carrier and farmer in the Walnut area his entire life and served in the United States Air during World War II.  He was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut.

He is survived by his wife Caryl, one daughter, Mrs. Darold (Denesse) Hoole of Gilbert, Minnesota, one son, Albert W. Hurst of Walnut; his mother, Mrs. Amelia Hurst of Walnut; three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Forrest (Leora) Peterson of Walnut and Mrs. Geraldine Bolbock of Princeton.

He was preceded by his father.
