WAYNE  C.  PEACH

Deer Grove: - Wayne C. Peach, 77, of 31236 Cooper Road, Deer Grove, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at his home near Deer Grove. 

Prayer services and Mass of Christian Burial were this morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, with Msgr. Thomas Bales, pastor, officiating. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tampico, with graveside military rites accorded by the Walnut American Legion Post 179.  Arrangements were completed by Garland Funeral Home, Walnut.  A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, Walnut Fire Department and Masses.

Mr. Peach was born on July 26, 1922, in Walnut, the son of Charles Wilbur and Cora L. Mead Peach. 

He married Theresa R. Egan on June 3, 1947 at Tampico.  She died Sept. 19, 1988.  He farmed in the Deer Grove and Walnut area for more than 50 years.  He served in the Army in the 361st Infantry 91st Division during World War II in North Africa and Italy, and was wounded in action twice.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tampico, the Farm Bureau and Walnut American Legion Post 179.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary (G. Joseph) Weller of Elgin and Rita Peach, at home; a son, Michael Peach at home; two brothers, Lyle (Alberta) Peach of Princeton and Willard (Nancy) Peach of Tampico; three sisters, Ila (Chester) Allen of Princeton, Velva Akridge and Lois (James) Hansen, both of Tampico; a granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother.
