RALPH W. NAFTZGER

Prophetstown: - Ralph W. Naftzger, 80, died Sunday at Community General Hospital in Sterling.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Leon United Methodist Church, rural Prophetstown, with Fr. Joseph C. Cleveland, interim pastor of First Congregational Church of Prophetstown, officiating. Burial will be in Leon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gardner Funeral Chapel in Prophetstown.

A memorial has been established to Self Help Enterprises, Inc.

He was born April 4, 1908 in Prophetstown, the son of Cliff and Mary Lane Naftzger. He married Joyce Plumley, July 30, 1943 in Morrison. Mr. Naftzger was educated at Woodwards Bluff School and farmed in the Prophetstown area. He had resided on his present farm for 41 years, and was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; one son, James A. of Prophetstown; two grandchildren and one great-grandson, Matthew.
