From OBITUARIES

Funeral rites for Miss Gayle Ann Corlett, 16, of Tampico were conducted Friday afternoon at the Tampico Methodist Church. Rev. Hollis Wharton of Walnut, former pastor of the church, and Rev. Joe Walker, pastor, officiated.

Rev. Walker read scriptural selection from John 11:25 and gave invocation followed by the reading of the 23rd Psalm, Matthew 18 and other citations. Rev., Wharton centered his message on the words of Paul from the book of 1 Corinthians; "Thanks be to God who giveth us the victory through Jesus Christ."

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ekstrand sang "Have Thine Own ?Way, Lord," and Mrs.Everett Renkes sang "Some Day He'll Make It Plain to Me," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Ivan Bishop.

Beverly Denison, Kay Schwagerman, Carol Johnson, Rita Ann Burke and Jane Bishop had charge of the many floral tributes.

Pallbearers were Vernon Winchell, Wendell Hepner, Terry Gholson, Harlan Christoffersen, James Nuelle and Irving Stewart, Burial was at Oakwood cemetery at Macomb.

Miss Corlett, a popular Tampico high school student, died last Wednesday at Community General hospital in Sterling from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Sunday night.

She was born Feb. 12, 1936, at Ottumwa, Ia., daughter of James and Mildred Corlett, and had lived in Tampico most of her life.

Her mother lives in Tampico and her father in Iowa.

Now Two Dead
STERLING, I11.— W— A second
person died here Wednesday of injuries
suffered in a two-car collision
Sunday night near Tampico.
Gayle Ann Corlett, 16, of Tampico.
died Wednesday in Community
General Hospital of a skull fracture.
Truman P. Amrine, 68, of
Sterling, died Tuesday of chest injuries.

Amrine's wife who was driving
the car in which he was riding
suffered slight shoulder injuries.
The other car was occupied by
Dean Winchell, 19. driver: his
brother Vernon, 17, and Kathryn
McCormick, l6, all of Tampico.
All were slightly injured.

State highway police charged
Dean Winchell with driving with
out lights. He will appear Friday
before Justice of the Peace Gus
Hansen in Rock Falls.
