  Muriel A. Neyrinck, 75, of Erie, most recently of Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island. A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Sept. 19, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Erie. Burial was in the Erie Cemetery. A visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 18, at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.

She was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Moline, the daughter of Virgil and Marguerite (Griffin) Jacobs. She graduated from Port Byron High School in 1953. She married Lawrence “Lorney” Neyrinck on Nov. 21, 1953. She worked at Sandstrom Paint Products in Port Byron. After many years with Sandstrom’s, she enjoyed working at the Pink Pony in Erie as a cook. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Erie. She enjoyed traveling and going to car shows. She also had a passion for lighthouses.

Survivors include her husband, Lorney of Erie; children and spouses, Toni Drilling of Tampico, Dawn and Arlyn Meier of Prophetstown, Cindy and Dick DeSmith of Atkinson, Marty and Cindy Neyrinck of Dixon and Andy and Debbie Neyrinck of Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren, Tammy Hannah, Tiffany Drilling, Tobi Drilling, Shaun Meier, Eric Meier, Angie Smalley, Cory DeSmith, Josh DeSmith, Missy Reyes, Kelsey Neyrinck, Katie Neyrinck and Brandy Neyrink; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister and spouse, Sandy and Carl Throop of Wichita, Kan.; and a brother and spouse, Larry and Nita Jacobs of Elmira, Calif.
