Blair Bryan Jr., 72, of rural Colona, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at his home. Funeral services celebrating his life were held Thursday, Feb. 16, at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. A visitation was held prior to services on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the Rock Island Conservation Club.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1940, in Moline, the son of Blair and Edith Bryan Sr. He graduated from Moline High School. He married Beverly Clason on Oct. 22, 2005, in Colona. He had been employed as an assembler for John Deere Harvester Works for more than 22 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Rock Island Conservation Club and Union Auto Workers. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Yankees fan and also a huge NASCAR fan and collector. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid fisherman, but mostly loved Bev and cherished their time they had together.

Survivors include his adoring wife, Beverly; two daughters and spouse, Cindy and Rick Jennings of Moline and Cheri Abbott of Naples, Fla.; two stepsons and spouse, Todd and Cindy Beattie of Davenport, Iowa, and Scott Beattie of Mesquite, Texas; eight grandchildren; one step granddaughter; five sisters and spouses, Pat Snyder of Geneseo, Paula Warren of Many, La., Janet and Art Meier of Prophetstown, Val and Jerry Bush of Fulton and Mary and Jerry Dobers of Pearce, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Christina.
