LEONARD  JOHN  O'BRYAN

Prophetstown:  - Leonard J. O'Bryan, 83, died Saturday evening at Morrison Community Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Gardner Chapel, with the Rev. Preston Woods, officiating. Burial will be in Lyndon Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Monday. A memorial has been established in his memory.

Leonard John O'Bryan was born Sept. 12, 1888 in Howardstown, Ky., the son of Web and Mary Del Brady O'Bryan. He moved to Prophetstown in 1918. He was married to Bessie Deavers of Athertonville, Ky., Dec. 26, 1912.

Survivors include his widow; three sons Edward, Terre Haute, Ind.; Albert, Geneseo and Robert, Lyndon; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Mae Powell, Louisville, Ky.;  Mrs. Thelma Retman, Sterling, and Mrs. Mildred Gehrig, Edelstein; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Sweat, Maringo; Mrs. Anna Mae Windhorst and Mrs. Rose Kinberger, all of Louisville, Ky.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one grandchild.
