Tampico - Norma J. Hatten, age 76, of Tampico, Illinois died on Tuesday March 13, 2012 at her home in Tampico.

Norma was born on May 10, 1935 in Thomas, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Geneva (Powell) Martin. She was united in marriage to Orville Hatten on August 3, 1953 in Sterling, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1998. She was a homemaker and a caregiver. Norma was a member of the Tampico Baptist Church and an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

Norma is survived by four daughters Connie Doty of Tampico, Illinois, Joni (Ron) Johnson of Walnut, Illinois, Penny (Terry) Bright of Sterling, Illinois, and Jill (Tim) Wetzell of Prophetstown, Illinois; one son Timothy Hatten of Rockford, Illinois; seven grandchildren Jennifer (Sean O’Brien) Johnson, Brett (Kate) Johnson, Adam (Ashley) Bright, Brittney Doty, Jerod Doty, Megan Bright, Austin Wetzell ; four great grandchildren Brennan O’Brien, Ashleigh O’Brien, Coggin Johnson, Haley Bright; one sister Sandy (Keith) Sells of Galesburg, Illinois; one sister in law Stephanie Martin of Bethany Beach, Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, and one son in law Mark Doty.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11a.m. at the Tampico Baptist Church with Karl Kaiser, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Tampico Baptist Church. A MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN HER MEMORY TO THE TAMPICO BAPTIST CHURCH.
