CHARLES FISHER BURIED AT ERIE -
He Came To Illinois In 1879 And For Fifty Years Had Lived In Portland -

ERIE - (Special) - Funeral services for Charles E. Fisher were held in Erie at the Turner and Slaymaker funeral home, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. REv. A. L. Shute, pastor of theErie Methodist church officiating. Pall bearers were William Burris, Frank Dhamer, James Quade, Frank Shalble, Allen Waite. Burial was in the Erie cemetery.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were three nieces of the deceased. Sylvia (Mrs. Herman) Koenig, Miss Alice B. Fisher, Maude (Mrs. Roy) Florence, allof Chicago; Roy Florence and John Florence also of Chicago.

Charles Ensley Fisher, son of Charles and Harriet Johnson Fisher, was born in Union County, Pa., Aug. 15, 1860. He came to Illinois in 1879 and for the past fifty years made his home on a farm in Portland township. Whiteside County, about two and a half miles southeast, of Hillsdale.

Mr. Fisher was active until a few days before his death, when he suffered a stroke of apoplexy and was taken to a Moline hospital wehre he passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 2, at the age of 68 years, four months and seven days. He is survived by one sister, Mr.s Emma Maddock of Belle Plain, Ia., and one brother, John Fisher of Erie.
