STERLING - Helen E Andreas, 98, of Sterling, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Coventry Living Center.

Mrs. Andreas was born July 31, 1911, in Tampico, the daughter of Oscar and Orient (Olds) Wetzell. She married John W. Andreas on June 19, 1940, in Tampico. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1972. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia M. Ackland-Altman of Rock Island, and Cynthia P. (David) Shupe of Toledo, Ill.; two sons, John H. (Mary) Andreas of Batavia, and Thomas C. Andreas of Carpenterville; one brother, Harold O. (Marjorie) Wetzell of Tampico; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great -great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Olson and Esther Hoover; one great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 11 a. m. Saturday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Nancy Weingartner, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a. m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling.
