MOLINE -- Services for Wayne L. "The Barber" Carlson, Moline, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estates. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Carson died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at his home. He was a barber from the age of 19. He cut hair at Heberling's Barber Shop, 23rd Ave., in the Highland Park area from 1955-1974. Later he opened his own shop, Wayne's Barber Shop, on 7th Street in Moline. He retired in 1997 after 45 years of barbering. Wayne Leroy Carlson was born on July 13, 1933, in Tampico. He married Donna Catterton in 1957 in Tampico. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice, Rock Island. Survivors include his wife, Donna; his daughters, Jeanne Laird, Moline, and Janet Ponce, Colona, Ill.; a son, Charles, Shawnee, Kan.; six grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Cady, Prophetstown, Ill., and Lois Glassburn, Sterling, Ill.; and a brother, Neil, Rock Falls, Ill.
