SHIPMAN – Michael P. Ryan, 60, of Shipman, passed away Tuesday evening, May 14, 2013, at his home.

Mike was born Jan. 25, 1953, in Waukegan, a son of Charles and Ardyth (Vermillion) Ryan. He graduated from Prophetstown High School with the class of 1971.

Mike retired in 2011 as the agency manager for Country Companies Insurance in Carlinville, after 30 years of service. Mike enjoyed golfing, boating, walks in the timber, and restoring his Mustang.    

Surviving are his daughter, Molly Ryan of Sterling; sister, Kathy (Frank) Stone of Lyndon; brother, Tom (Laura) Ryan of Escondido, Calif.; sister, Charlene Harris of Maryville, Tenn.; brother, Frank (Susie) Ryan of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister, Darlene Rosenow of Sterling; brothers, Tim Ryan of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Dave Ryan of Maryville, Tenn.; three nephews; and two nieces.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; stepbrother, Fred Mueller; and son, Zane, in 2007.

There will be no services. Mike’s ashes will be spread over the Smoky Mountains. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is handling arrangements.
