Walnut - Marie S. Vetter, age 74, of Hooppole, Illinois, died Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 at OSF Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. 

Marie was born on November 27th, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Sternal) Farganus. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Vetter on August 20th, 1976 in Decatur, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 5th, 2002. She was a homemaker and was a member and the treasurer at Royal Neighbors. She loved to play dominoes with her friends.

She is survived by three sons Tony Sommers of Beardstown, IL, Alan (Cheryl Ince) Sommers of Hooppole, IL and Terry (Catherine) Sommers of Hooppole, IL; one stepdaughter Susan Stontz of Kewanee, IL; stepson Dennis (Alice) Vetter of Sterling, IL; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons, 6 step grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren; One brother Robert Farganus of Moline, IL; One sister Dorothy Hayes of Willowbrook, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Joe.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Hooppole, IL.with the Reverend Dan Wright , pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Hooppole Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A memorial has been established in her memory.
