Mrs. Mary Berge, 75, Dies On Wednesday

Morrison: - Mrs. Mary Berge, 75, of Prophetstown, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Berge, 311 Lincolnway, Morrison, where she had lived for the past five months. She had been ill for six months.

The body was taken to the Tomlinson Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m Thursday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Yorktown Lutheran Church. The Rev. A. H. Landgrebe will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery at Yorktown.

Mary Sandrock was born in Germany, Oct. 21, 1879, the daughter of Barnhart and Anna Lickerd Sandrock. She came to the United States with her parents when she was three years old. She attended school in Yorktown and lived on farms in the Yorktown and Prophetstown areas before moving to Prophetstown to reside.

She was married Feb. 1, 1899, in Yorktown, to August Berge, who died in 1940. Mrs. Berge was a member of the Yorktown Lutheran Chruch.

Surviving are one son, Carl J. of Morrison; one grandson, William of Morrison; one brother, Casper E. Sandrock of Morrison and one sister, Mrs. Harry Lineweaver of Prophetstown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son in infancy, four brothers and three sisters.
