Tampico - D. Eileen Davis- Nielsen, age 94, of Sterling, Illinois died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Eileen was born on July 15, 1920 in Golden, Illinois, the daughter of Elijah Wells “Tom” and Nellie Schieferdecker Osborne. She was united in marriage to Arthur L. Davis on January 24, 1943 in Tampico, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1985. She then married Henry Nielsen on December 13, 1987 in Tampico. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2006. During her lifetime she was a telephone operator, a farmer’s wife, and owned and operated the EOD Antique Shop. Eileen was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church, The Red Hatters, and was an avid card player. She also was very active at the Whiteside County Fair in the floral exhibits.
She is survived by two sons Rick (Maryse) Davis of Toulouse, France, Paul (Sandy) Davis of Rock Falls, Illinois; one daughter Mary Chriest of Rock Falls, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren with another due this year; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son in law Roger Chriest, two brothers Gene and Lee and one sister Margaret.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 6th at10:30 at the Tampico United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leanne Keate, pastor officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
