TAMPICO – Esther A. Waldron, 96, of Tampico, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Esther was born July 10, 1919, in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Ritter) Holforty. She was united in marriage to Manford “Wally” Waldron on Aug. 9, 1942, in Nebraska. He preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1996. She enjoyed crocheting, gambling, and her dog, Amy.

She is survived by seven daughters, Karen (Barney) Hemminger of Sterling, Vickie (Rick) McKay of Rock Falls, Cheryl (David) Adams of Sterling, Jackie Adams and DeAnn (Mick) Bryan, both of Tampico, Bobbie Jo (Danny) Conduff of Morrison, and Cindy (Paul) Haney of Tampico; three sons, Jerry Waldron of Davenport, Iowa, and Dennis (Betty) Waldron and Wally (Sharon) Waldron, both of Sterling; 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Baker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, Carol and two in infancy, four sisters, and one brother.

A private funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with the Rev. Leanne Keate, pastor of Tampico United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

 Esther A. Waldron, age 96 of Tampico, Illinois died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
