ROCK FALLS – Joseph Douglas Geeting, 43, formerly of Rock Falls, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, near Scottsbluff, Nebraska, from injuries suffered in a truck crash.

He was born Nov. 12, 1971, in Sterling, the son of Douglas Wayne and Sheila Rae (Brinkman) Geeting. He was a 1989 graduate of Rock Falls High School, and a 1993 graduate of Parkland College with an associate degree in veterinary technology. Joe had worked for 11 years for Attendorf Trucking in Minot, North Dakota, and most recently for Ice Cold Trucking out of Deer Grove. He enjoyed Facebook and social media, keeping in touch with family and friends. In his youth, he was a member of Montmorency 4-H Club, and a past member of Rock River Rabbit Club.

Surviving are his mother, Sheila Geeting of Rock Falls; his father, Douglas Geeting of Cleveland, North Dakota; his brothers, Jason Geeting, Josh (Tosha) Geeting, and Zach Yoder, all of Rock Falls; and his maternal grandfather, Eugene Brinkman of Sterling.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Wayne and Ruth Geeting; and maternal grandmother, Beulah Brinkman.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday and a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Episcopal Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Margaret Williams officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.
