PROPHETSTOWN – Theodore P. “Ted” Crynock, 75, of Prophetstown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa.

 

Ted was born June 29, 1940, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of Stephen and Mary E. (Detrich) Crynock. He married Helen White on May 7, 1960, in Erie. Ted was employed by G.E. Co. as an advanced manufacturing engineer before his retirement in 2005. He was a family-oriented man, proud to be called Grandpa; with his family, he cooked, created multiple cookbooks, built model airplanes, worked on electronics, and remodeled homes.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two daughters, Carol (Dwayne) Davis of Simi Valley, California, and Michele Folsom of Morrison; two sons, Stephen (Joanne) Crynock of Fredonia, Wisconsin, and Thomas (Natasha) Crynock of Buford, Georgia; one son-in-law, Richard Gahm of Overland Park, Kansas; one sister, Marie Dzuricky of Erie; and seven grandchildren, Samuel, Alyssa, Sara, Matthew (Ashley), Erica, Ryan, and Nicholas.
 
Ted was ushered into heaven by his daughter, Lisa Crynock Gahm; his parents; his brother, Gerald; and son-in-law, Gene Folsom.
 
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, 46 Grove St., Prophetstown.
