NAOMI A. NOORD, 89, of Prophetstown, IL, died Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, IL.

Naomi was born October 16, 1926, in Sterling, IL, to Emmett and Ida Ruth (Grater) Montague. She was educated in the grade schools and was a 1944 graduate of Morrison High School. She then graduated from Scovill Business College in Sterling, IL. Naomi married Harvey Noord on December 28, 1946, in Morrison, IL. He died May 31, 1983. Naomi was a bookkeeper at Clinton Corn in Clinton, IA. She then assisted her husband, Harvey, on the farm in Prophetstown, for many years. Naomi was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Prophetstown, where she was active on many of the church's boards and committees. She was a past president of the Prophetstown Historical Society and a member of the Prophetstown Service Club and AARP. She volunteered at the Prophets Riverview Center for over 20 years. She loved being with her family, and enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and antiquing.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Michael) Rock of Mt. Horeb, WI and Lorraine (Mark) Thompson of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Larry (Julie) Noord of Prophetstown, IL; three grandchildren, Andrea (Greg Ruff) Thompson of Lostant, IL; Hillary (Joseph Burmeister) Thompson of Rock Island, IL; and David (Amanda) Noord of Malden, IL; two great-granddaughters, Zoey and Quinn Ruff; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; and one sister, Mary Spires.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 PM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Prophetstown, IL

CO-OFFICIATING: Rev. Andy Ploenzke - Pastor of the First Congregational United Church of Christ - Prophetstown, IL and Rev. Dan Wright - Pastor of Zion United Methodist Church - Hooppole, IL

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery - Morrison, IL
